Challenge
Launch microsite for a hot new Scion model
Scion needed to launch a microsite introducing the first-ever Release Series model for the xD urban five-door subcompact, a limited edition of 2,000 numbered units, featuring unique “Hot Lava” exterior paint and special accessories, only to be found on this model. The challenge was to create an impactful site that would reflect the model’s unique “Hot Lava” color and complement Scion’s advertising campaign theme, "Get It While It's Hot," and to do it in less than a month.
Solution
Produce an immersive Flash site with challenging visual effects in less than three weeks
Leveraging Scion’s “Get It While It’s Hot” campaign theme, SolutionSet created a highly original Flash experience featuring a moody and atmospheric volcanic urban landscape, with the xD at the forefront. Cool interactive elements include exploding manhole covers revealing accessory features, and a hidden mechanism (known as an “easter egg”) allowing persistent visitors to create explosions at will.
