The Challenge

Stanford Alumni Association's two key events during the year put a heavy load on their existing Events Management web tool, which would sometimes crash the server, leading to anxiety and frustration during peak activity. There was also a need for a better hour tracking method and a more robust role-based system for administering the site.

The Solution

After reviewing existing web-based CMS and event management tools, SolutionSet implemented a custom architecture to better meet the association’s needs. Administrators got a much more refined set of reporting tools, including AJAX, and were now able to login, view, and edit the events and shifts they are assigned.

The Result

The Association now has a stable web infrastructure for peak event activity, and both the admin and end-user experience have been improved by a simple, clean, consistent user interface. Administrators can now find users easily and determine staffing requirements via reports. As a testimony to new platform’s ease of use, the number of events the Event Management web tool is used for has increased dramatically.
