Scion, from Toyota, was developed with a new generation of youthful buyers in mind. Scion supports originality through its programs in the artistic community.
Scion needed to launch a microsite introducing the first-ever Release Series model for the xD urban five-door subcompact, a limited edition of 2,000 numbered units, featuring unique "Hot Lava" exterior paint and special accessories, only to be found on this model. The challenge was to create an impactful site that would reflect the model’s unique color and complement Scion’s campaign theme, "Get It While It's Hot," all in less than a month.
The Solution
SolutionSet created a highly original Flash experience featuring a moody and atmospheric volcanic urban landscape, with the xD at the forefront. Cool interactive elements include exploding manhole covers revealing accessory features, and a hidden mechanism (known as an "Easter egg") allowing persistent visitors to create explosions at will.
The Result
The final product: an immersive Flash-based website with challenging visual effects, developed in less than three weeks.
